Regulatory Privacy and Information Security Analyst
We have a 6 month contract for a Regulatory Privacy and Information Security Analyst in Roseville, CA.
The Regulatory Privacy and Information Security Analyst works directly for the Security by Design Officer. This Analyst also collaborates with the Information Security and Privacy Officers and other privacy and information security team members to assure compliance with federal and state privacy regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, CMIA, other state privacy and security laws, and the organization's privacy and security policies and procedures. The Analyst is responsible for planning, executing, and managing a variety of regulatory, investigative, and educational-based projects as an integral member of our clients privacy and information security program. The Analyst develops and delivers privacy and information security awareness and compliance education and training for the enterprise and supports investigations with oversight from the Chief Privacy and Information Security Officer on regulatory matters and concerns. In addition, the Analyst is responsible for drafting and responding to regulatory inquiries with oversight from the Chief Privacy and Information Security Officer and affiliate Privacy and Information Security Officers.
The Analyst is responsible to ensure that the privacy and information security awareness program meets industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements; communicates the privacy and information security policies to appropriate workforce members, and identifies top privacy and information security risks and behaviors to effectively reduce risks to the organization. Additionally, the Analyst assists in root cause analysis, corrective action plans, and investigative reports for privacy and information security incidents at the direction of the Chief Privacy and Information Security Officer or designee. The Analyst also assists with oversight and performs privacy and information security operation functions within our client's privacy and information security program, including activities related to the confidentiality, access, use, and disclosure of protected health information (PHI) and other confidential information. The Analyst assures adherence to applicable federal and state regulations, investigates and maintains documentation of privacy and information security incidents, ensures timely reporting to patients and government entities as required by law, monitors key elements of the privacy and information program, including ensuring implementation of training programs for members of the workforce and physicians. The Analyst must be able to think strategically, execute tactically, and build relationships across the organization to encourage a collaborative work environment.
Required : Bachelor's degree in healthcare, education, communications, information security or other related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Required : 2 - 5 years' work experience in privacy, security, compliance, education or healthcare field Desired: Experience in healthcare company with knowledge of existing and emerging federal and state requirements related to privacy and security of health information is preferred.

The contractor will work with a small team to individuals who develop privacy and information security-related education and training for the enterprise. The successful candidate must like to work in a fast-paced environment and can work on multiple projects at one time. We draft a lot of content so we are looking for an individual who has strong writing/editing skills. We now produce two newsletters in addition to other responsibilities.
- PowerPoint presentations for executives and the team
- Drafting enterprise email messages for security alerts and issues
- Draft newsletter articles
- Drafting scripts for modules and videos
- Develop games (gamification) for awareness education
- Education/training/communications component for projects
We like to try out new things to engage the workforce. This individual should have years of experience writing and editing. Experience in the standard office programs required:
PowerPoint (preferred to have enhanced skills)
Newsletter software application (preferred)
We believe in cross training. The rest of the team develop training using eLearning and audio visual equipment. A successful candidate would be interested in gaining new skills and learning other software and awareness and training tools; though he/she will not be expected to be the lead using the below applications:
Articulate Storyline (instructional design software)
Captivate (instructional design software)
Audacity (audio software)
eLearning training modules
The successful candidate is not afraid to learn new software or technology. We trial new concepts. For example, we piloted video training this year and am learning as much as we can to later do ourselves. We have equipment to perform voiceover work for our training modules. We are a small creative team who are high execute. We do a little bit of everything to educate the workforce.
