Maintenance Technician

Are you an experienced Building and Facilities Maintenance Technician? Are you looking to advance your career? Then this is an opportunity for you! Our Customer is seeking an experienced full time Service & Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their team at a 433 unit apartment community. The technician will be responsible to maintain, troubleshoot, repair and operate all core building system and central HVAC systems. Technician will also perform quality inspections on work performed by outside vendors. This is a proactive position with a focus on preventative maintenance and customer service. Responsible for overall care and general maintenance. This position reports directly to the Service Manager and the Property Manager. On-Call availability on a rotating schedule is required.

This is a Permanent Placement Position!

Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30AM - 4:00PM

Rate: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and move up to 30lbs, frequently lift and move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift over 50lbs.

  • Ability to multi-task, handle stress and pressures of responding to emergency & urgent situations calmly promptly and efficiently.

  • Ability to communicate with residents in a professional and courteous manor, as well as the ability maintain confidential information.

  • Diagnose causes of problems and / or failures in various building systems and components for the purpose of identifying component or system repair needs, and make necessary repairs.

  • Inspect HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventative maintenance, and make necessary repairs.

  • Perform preventative maintenance as needed to ensure the ongoing functionality of the HVAC systems.

  • Respond to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate resident item and / or facility item.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Take direction from senior management.

  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and 10 hour certification.

  • Cost conscious and able to perform light paperwork.

  • Maintain curb appeal and grounds upkeep.

  • Address all aspects related to an apartment turnover.

Working hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM


--10 years overall progressive experience performing maintenance and repair of apartment systems, including electric, carpentry, plumbing, central HVAC system, landscape, painting, and appliances.

--Ability to work overtime hours as necessary

--A verifiable high school diploma or equivalent.

--Valid Driver's license.

--Advanced knowledge of TRANE & McQuay heat pumps, Siemens control systems, LG control systems is preferred.

--Must have residential maintenance experience.

--Strong communications skills, general computer skills required.
