Documents business and functional requirements for the business partner and translates business requirements into functional specifications for the information technology organization and manages changes to such specifications.
Serves as a liaison between the business partner and the information technology organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyzes business partner's operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
Serves as a liaison between the business community and the information technology organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user and business needs.
Serves as an integral participant in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
Formulates, defines and provides costing for the business process redesign and documentation for new technology or changes to existing technology to meet technical requirements.
Researches business strategies and provides recommendations on best practices and changes in technology.
Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and information technology from initial requirements to final implementation.
Writes test plans and conducts a variety of test cases to confirm the outcomes of the requirement changes meet the expectations of the business partners and clients.
Educates the information technology organization on the direction of the business.
Provides training to the business partners and clients on changes to the technology.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of Client's products and services as well as an understanding of the technology organization's systems and capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical and non-technical information to any audience
Knowledge of systems development life cycles such as Waterfall, Prototyping, Iterative, etc.
Ability to design solutions and technical requirements by leveraging the appropriate tools and techniques
Excellent project management skills
Ability to research ideas and present outcomes in a clear and concise manner
Ability to influence others to take the most appropriate path through understanding
Ability to provide excellent customer service to business partners and clients to ensure project success and client satisfaction
Advanced professional level role. Possesses a broad understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring appropriate solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise's competitive edge.
Supports several moderately to highly complex business processes.
Works with business partners across multiple business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies.
Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of several business areas to resolve complex and varied problems through integrated solutions within a broad technical and business context of significant impact.
Recognized as an expert internally within a discipline(s) and may provide strategic direction, guidance and integration of products and services.
Works on multiple projects as a project team member, and occasionally as a project team leader.
May coach and/or mentor more junior staff.
Makes recommendations for buy vs. build decision.
Typically requires six (6) or more years of relevant technical or business work experience leading large, complex projects with knowledge in multiple disciplines/processes.
