I&C Engineer

Permanent position: IMMEDIATE NEEDS!!!! Engineering client involved in heavy industrial plant projects is looking for 2 Instrumentation & Controls Engineers to join their team. One position is a Contract assignment and the other is a direct hire job. You need a BS degree in Engineering and 5-15+ years of experience supporting heavy industrial plant EPC projects, ideally in the oil & gas industry, but any heavy industrial area will do. Client prefers local candidates but will provide relocation for the right candidate. * Salary commensurate with experience *

Responsibilities for the I&C Engineer

  • Responsible for the design and development of instrumentation systems (70%) and control systems (30%) for gas or chemical process plants, including the specification of industrial instrumentation as well as the material to support installation

  • Develop instrumentation installation drawings, data sheets & specifications according to recognized industry standards & client specifications

  • Assist in the technical development of assigned project P&IDs

  • Generate instrument datasheet, RFQ and PO packages for Instruments and Control Systems for gas & chemical processing plants

  • Develop technical tabulation to support the selection of instrumentation and control systems

  • Assist in the development of project schedules and manpower requirements

  • Review and checking of technical vendor submittals for installation requirements

  • Prepare instrumentation calculations for control valves, flow orifices, and relief valves

Requirements for the I&C Engineer

  • 5-15+ years of experience as an Instrument Engineer or I&C Engineer supporting large heavy industrial plant (gas, refinery, process plant, etc...) EPC projects

  • You need to be able to perform instrumentation calculations (sizing & specifying) for control valves, flow orifices & relief valves as well as specifying metering & instrumentation devices

  • You need to be more skilled on instrumentation vs controls systems design engineering areas

  • Some experience out on the construction site performing loop checks is needed

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering and a PE license a PLUS

  • Experience using Intergraph Smartplant software is a PLUS
